Lomo-Instant Camera with Close-Up lens Fujifilm Instax Mini Film - Inspired by last night's viewing of the original version of "The Evil Dead" and a general lack of any in my other project coming to fruition any time soon, I thought I would play with some Instax close-ups. When Instax film is extremely over exposed it actual begins to product a negative effect as you can see on the top of the skull. This adds and eery touch to this image.

Lomography Society Lomo'Instant Camera Fujifilm Instax Mini Instant Film - Sometimes life gets in the way. I have been woefully neglectful of both my photography and this blog over the past few months. Between work and other concerns I have had difficulty finding the time. In the mean time I have been playing with my new Lomo'Instant camera and here are a couple of funs shots. The Lomo'Instant camera comes with colored filters that insert over the flash, so I thought I would use them for a couple of self portraits. I also used the auxiliary portrait lens that I purchased with the camera.

A Simple Beginning

Lomo'Instant Camera Fujifilm Instax Mini Film - Just a quick shot to make sure my new Lomo'Instant Camera is working properly. A cute pile of Prey over Predators caught my eye as a good first subject. The lens of the camera is surprising sharp, especially since focus is limited to two broad zones. This was shot with the closer zone which is 0.4m to 0.9m. More to come soon...

It's Here! The Lomo'Instant Camera

I backed the Lomo'Instant Camera Kickstarter project from the start and finally received my reward, presenting my new Lomo'Instant Camera. I purchased the Black Camera with the full lens set, including the Fish-Eye, Close Up and Portrait Lenses. I have always been a huge fan of instant photography of all types and was happy to support this project. The final product exceeded my expectations. The camera is well made, with an excellent fit and finish, while keeping the "Plastic fantastic" feel you expect from the Lomography Society. I cannot wait to start working through my first two pack of Fujifilm Instax Instant film to see the results.

Lomography Society Diana F+ Kodak Tri-X Professional Arista 76 1:1 - Coleman and Virginia, there may be more detail buried beneath the surface, but this is all time has left visible. A loving couple? A Son and Daughter? We cannot tell. I could shoot for week in the Old City Cemetery and always find something new. There are some many layers, textures and new angles to explore.

Lomography Society Diana F+ Kodak Tri-X Professional Arista 76 1:1 - From a walk through The Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg Va. with 2 rolls of Kodak Tri-X and a Lomography Society Diana F+. Actually my first rolls of 120 film through my 3 year old Diana. I originally purchased the Diana with a Fujifilm Instax Mini Back and have used it as an Instant camera until now. I love the dark corners and focus falloff of the plastic lens. Perfect for the mood of this site.

Autumn's Last Stand

Pentax Auto 110 50mm f2.8 and 24mm f2.8 Lomography Society Tiger 110 Color Film Arista C-41 - A series from my 1st roll of Lomography Society Tiger 110 color film. Autumn is struggling to keep her mark of color on the advancing dull greys and browns of the coming winter. I love the waning days of Autumn's color. There is less brilliance, but so much more contrast. I never knew 110
film could looks so good. The Epson V500 was my scanner of choice of these scans.

                                               

A "Little" 110 Fun

Pentax Auto 110 24mm f2.8 Lomography Society Tiger 110 Color Film Arista C-41 Kit - From my 1st roll of Lomography Society's new Tiger 110 color film, through my Pentax Auto 110. Definitely both the "little" camera and film that could. Scanning this film is not easy. I am using the Better Scanning Variable Height MF Film Carrier, and taping the film strips to the anti-newton glass using Scotch Tape. Alignment is key to cutting down on post scan adjustment. Dust is also a nightmare when scanning 110 film, as what would be a speck on a 35mm or 120 negative, is a monstrous defect on a 110. The Digital Ice on the Epson V500 helps, but is not perfect. Autumn in Lynchburg VA through the Eye of a Lomokino

Lomography Society Lomokimo Fujifilm Superia 200 Arista C-41 - Just a quick short from my Lomography Society Lomokino. The leaves are at peak color here and this is the view from my back porch. Hand holding the Lomokino leads to very jumpy images as it has hand cranked. This is only my third roll with this camera so I am still perfecting my scanning work flow. This short film is made up of 144 individual frames and scanner separately, very time consuming.

Distorted Reflection

Pentax Auto 110 50mm f2.8 Lomography Orca 100 Arista 76 1:1 -  The last post from my 1st Pentax Auto 110 outing. I am amazed this is 110 film. Those of you that have ever used a typical 110 Instamatic Camera know what I mean. They made Kodak Brownies look like pro quality gear. I cannot wait to shoot my 1st roll of color... The Lomography Society also has Color Tiger 110 Film, and I have a roll loaded and read to go.

Pentax Auto 110 18mm f2.8 Lomography Orca 100 Arista 76 1:1 - Another shot for the Pentax Auto 110. The optics and crisp and have perfect contrast. Edge to edge sharpness is flawless.

Hollin's Mill Water Moccasin

Pentax Auto 110 50mm f2.8 Lomography Orca 100 Arista 76 1:1 - Thanks to Lomography Society's new Orca 110 Black and White Film the Pentax Auto 110 has a new life. This was shot at the Hollin's Mill Dam in Lynchburg Virginia's Blackwater Creek Trail. If you look closely you can see a water moccasin hiding among the rocks. A great example of the quality the Pentax Auto 110 was able to achieve from 110 film.
