Olympus Stylus 35mm f2.8 Out of Data Fujifilm Superia 200 Arista C41 Kit

During its heyday, the Olympus Infinity Stylus was known the professional photographer's point and shoot camera of choice.  Its sharp Olympus 35mm f2.8 lens, compact size, and elegant clamshell made it the perfect pocket companion for serious photographers looking for a convenience and quality. Add features such as decent close focus capabilities and an excellent fill flash mode and you had a camera that would produce SLA quality images without the bulk. I picked mine up at a resale shop for around $3.00 and have never regretted the investment. As you can see from the image above, it is a capable little camera.

Scanner Test - Kodak Pakon F135 Plus Scanner

Nikon F2AS Nikkor 50mm f1.4 Kodak Gold 100 -  I picked a roll shot years ago to test my Kodak Pakon F135 Plus scanner. I wanted a roll with strong colors and some challenging lighting to get a good feel for the scanners capabilities. Generally the scanner preformed very well. Scans had good sharpness and contrast, with accurate color reproduction. I saw minor issues with dominate color shifts toward cyan when image contain a lot of red, but this was easily corrected within the scanner software prior to exporting.

Instant Autumn

Speed Graphic Grafex Optar 135 f4.7 FujiFilm FP-100c - Autumn is my favorite season, the crisp cool air, the color and the world just seems to smell cleaner... Shooting up through the changing leaves of a mammoth Black Walnut Tree, a single cloud floating by in the clear blue sky. Perfect.

Autumn's Last Stand

Pentax Auto 110 50mm f2.8 and 24mm f2.8 Lomography Society Tiger 110 Color Film Arista C-41 - A series from my 1st roll of Lomography Society Tiger 110 color film. Autumn is struggling to keep her mark of color on the advancing dull greys and browns of the coming winter. I love the waning days of Autumn's color. There is less brilliance, but so much more contrast. I never knew 110
film could looks so good. The Epson V500 was my scanner of choice of these scans.

                                               

Autumn in Lynchburg VA through the Eye of a Lomokino

Lomography Society Lomokimo Fujifilm Superia 200 Arista C-41 - Just a quick short from my Lomography Society Lomokino. The leaves are at peak color here and this is the view from my back porch. Hand holding the Lomokino leads to very jumpy images as it has hand cranked. This is only my third roll with this camera so I am still perfecting my scanning work flow. This short film is made up of 144 individual frames and scanner separately, very time consuming.

Autumn is Here

Kiev 60 Arsat 80mm f2.8 Fujifilm NPH 400H Pro Arista C-41 - Autumn is here, time for cool crisp air and fresh color chemistry. This is the first post from an extremely productive shooting weekend. So many images so little time. Noticed this beautifully colored Virginia Creeper leaf set while shooting something completing unrelated. Thought it would be a great way to start off the posts. Great to be back shooting with my Kiev 60's. Every time I use them, I love these Ukrainian Bricks more and more.

From The Archives - Old Boat Grandview 1982

Pentax ME Super 50mm F1.7 Kodak Tri-X D76 Microdol X Stock - Another old favorite. Late fall in the Grandview section of Hampton Virginia in late 1982. My first 35mm SLR was a Pentax ME Super. I learned to shoot on my Father;s Kondak Retina IIIs before getting the ME Super.

The World through a Plastic Eye no. 1

Bell+Howell BF35 35mm f7.7 FUJIFILM Superia 200 CA135 - The vague focus of a plastic lens. I am at a loss to find the plain of focus. It seems to be closer on the left than it is on the right.

Autumn in Lynchburg

Canon Canonet QL17 G-III 40mm f1.7 FUJIFILM Superia 200 CA135- Autumn is hitting is stride in Lynchburg, Virginia.  A walk in Riverside part overlooking looking the James River yielded this shot. I love shooting with rangefinders like the Canonet.
